International Seminar – Prof Garth Nicolson & Dr Rita Ellithorpe

The functionality of the mitochondria is understood by many to be related to energy production and hence it is known as the cells energy factory. However, mitochondrial dysfunction has also been liked to a wide range of degenerative and metabolic diseases, as well as cancer and aging. These are all derived from the bio energetic role of the mitochondria which acts as the interface between the environment and the cell. Prof Nicolson has been studying the role of mitochondria in human health and the restoration and repair of the delicate membranes using natural agents for many years. Dr Ellithorpe has treated over 4,000 patients using glycophospholipids and published multiple research papers on the clinical application of the use of specific glycophospholipids and co factors. Their combined knowlege and experiences will assist you in comprehending the valuable role that the application of the agents can have in restoring mitochondrial function and capacity and the subsequent benefits for human health.

Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice®

This 5-day course applies just such a systematic approach. Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice® is an intensive exploration of the best research and clinical experience available in the field today. The course is organised so that the information is divided into major categories of fundamental clinical imbalances that give rise to what we eventually diagnose as disease or primary risks of disease. In the case studies sessions, which follow the in-depth lecture presentations about the underlying science, you learn to sort and evaluate information to make it clinically applicable.

Dr Tom O’Bryan: Nutrigenomic Therapies for Autoimmune Disease. – Beyond ‘One Drug–One Target’ Treatments

This full-day presentation will address the intersection of Functional Immunology with Health and Disease. Furthering the integration of neuroendocardioimmunology, we will focus on the role of chronic inflammation, which initiates at the cellular level, fueling the inflammatory cascade that spreads systemically, eventually causing enough tissue damage to be recognisable as a diagnosable condition.  Practically every known degenerative disease is a disease of inflammation at the cellular level.

National Seminar Details

Fatigue is one of the most commonly presenting complaints, affecting millions of people; it is pandemic. There is no formal diagnosis, simply a subjective opinion about the way you feel. It reduces quality of life, affects productivity, creativity, well-being and happiness and is prevalent in modern society.

Come and learn how to improve the energy of your patients, and help them to overcome fatigue.

Antony will present a model for assessing the most appropriate nutritional intervention for the patient in front of you. This encompasses adrenal fatigue, hypothyroidism, chronic fatigue syndrome / fibromyalgia, and anaemias.

In addition, the benefits of specific key nutrients will be highlighted, with the science behind them. In particular, you will be introduced to a unique natural plant extract that enhances cell membrane health to restore vibrancy, already clinically proven to improve energy.

One of the most important attributes in life is to have abundant energy.

You will learn these things:

  • The principle causes of fatigue, and how to identify them.
  • What reliable fatigue scales or evaluations can be used in clinical practice.
  • Which laboratory tests are most useful to reflect energy deficit and how to interpret them.
  • What key foods and food supplements make a difference to energy production and storage, and when to use them, for a variety of different fatigue conditions.

Presenter:

Antony J. Haynes

Antony Haynes is Head of Technical Services for Nutri-Link and a qualified and practicing Nutritional Therapist. He has personally treated in excess of 11,000 people and still maintains a very busy Harley Street Clinic. Like you, he regularly faces patients with the complaint of fatigue and lack of energy. His many years of experience combined with his many positive and negative anecdotes derived from clinical life will really bring this subject to life and open new and exciting treatment strategies.
